A few simple rules to start on the right foot, protect your number and send your messages reliably with SenWaAPI.
The essentials
Spend 5 minutes setting this up and you'll avoid 90% of issues.
Use your personal number only to test the service. In production, use a dedicated number — one you accept to "sacrifice" to API usage. Why? Automated sending increases the risk of WhatsApp restricting or banning the account: you don't want to lose your personal number, nor mix your private conversations with your application's. Separating personal and business life protects both.
Install WhatsApp Business (free) on the dedicated number, then set up the profile before connecting the session to SenWaAPI: business name, description, email, website, opening hours and greeting message. A complete profile builds trust with your customers and looks more professional than regular WhatsApp.
Get a number reserved for your application, separate from your personal line.
In Africa
Get a dedicated local SIM card / number from a carrier in your country. It's simple, low-cost and the number stays reachable locally.
Outside Africa (Europe, etc.)
Use a low-cost prepaid SIM — for example Lyca, Lebara or equivalent — to get a dedicated, disposable and inexpensive number with no commitment.
These carriers are mentioned as examples only: they are not official SenWaAPI partners. Pick whichever best covers your area.
Going further
To keep a healthy number and high deliverability over time.
Don't send 1,000 messages on day one. Ramp up volume slowly over several days: a brand-new number that suddenly sends in bulk is the first red flag for WhatsApp.
Only contact people who agreed to receive your messages. Messaging strangers triggers reports ("Block / Report") that quickly lead to the number being restricted.
SenWaAPI already enforces a minimum delay between two sends on the same session to protect your number. Don't try to bypass it: a steady, reasonable pace beats a burst.
The session stays linked to your phone. Keep the device powered on, connected to the internet and WhatsApp Business installed so your messages keep going through without interruption.
Keep a second dedicated number on hand. If the main number ever gets restricted, you can switch over quickly without interrupting your service.
